Homeopathy
Samuel Hahnemann founded and developed homeopathy approx. 200 years ago. The three pillars of classical homeopathy are the simile rule, the homeopathic remedy test and the establishment of an individual disease pattern.

The simile rule
The simile rule or law of similars developed by Hahnemann in 1796 says that the patient should be treated with the medicine that would cause similar symptoms or troubles in healthy persons. This principle may be explained with the effects of “onion peeling”. Depending on the individual sensitivity it causes lachrymation, itching, stinging eyes, Aachoo syndrome, nose tickling as well as a watery, stinging, aggressive nose secretion. Processing an onion seemed to trigger an acute disease pattern (artificial disease). If a patient suffers from a cold or has similar disease symptoms he is treated with a homeopathic preparation from the kitchen onion (Allium cepa) according to the principle of similarity.

Homeopathic remedy test
Hahnemann first formulated the homeopathic remedy test in 1790. Healthy subjects are administered a medicinally active substance over a defined period of time. Afterwards all the symptoms are carefully noted. The test symptoms are systematically classified and form a basic structure for the so-called Arzneimittelbild (drug image).

Data collection on the individual disease pattern
Data collection on the individual disease pattern is the first step for selecting the right homeopathic medicine. After an accurate recording of the medical history (approx. one hour) the recorded symptoms are weighted. A homeopathic medicine that has the best match with the disease is selected. The classical homeopathic treatment accompanies the patient for a longer period of time. As an illness often occurs on several levels or layers a homeopathic monitoring by the physician through the various phases of the illness is required until healing or improvement take place.

Application areas
The classical homeopathic treatment has proved to be successful as therapeutic pillar for functional diseases and obvious troubles.
