What is acutaping?
|
Acutaping is a new therapeutic treatment applied since recently. It has been jointly developed and first-time described by Dr Hans-Ulrich Hecker, Kiel, and Dr Kay Liebchen, Damp. Acutaping is a further development of Kinesio taping presented in the seventies by the Japanese physician and chirotherapist Kenzo Kase. Whereas the then usual methods of taping and bandaging aimed at stabilizing and sedating joints, Kenzo Kase developed a stretchable „movable“ tape. Contrary to the hitherto known tape bandages the therapeutic action of acutaping results from or via exercise.
