Like acupuncture acutaping cannot heal destroyed structures. In most of the cases structural disorders present concomitant dysfunction. Acutaping can easily influence these dysfunctions as it regulates the disordered functions. Due to the effect of acutaping on disordered functions it is sensible to speak of effective directions rather than of concrete indications. These effective directions include
- Pain reduction
- Regulation of the muscle tonus (relaxing or tonifying)
- Regulation of psycho vegetative disorders
- Immune modulation
- Anti-inflammatory effect
- Decongestion (stimulation of the lymphatic flow)
