Mode of action
|
The effect is partly explained by the fact that the skin adheres to this tape bandage, and is subsequently permanently shifted against the sub tissue during motion, and thus exercised. This permanent displacement during each natural motion is comparable to a self-lymph drainage, or massage of the connective tissue. Additionally, certain receptors are excited which activate body-own pain reduction systems.
Due to the reduced pressure in the tissue under the tape the lymph flow is accelerated. Thus, the decomposition of a possibly existing lymph edema is accelerated. Additionally, the accelerated lymph stream triggers an anti-inflammatory action.
