1987 - 1990 Assistant doctor at the department of internal medicine of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel.
1990 Doctoral thesis „Acute lymphatic leukemia”.
1990 - 1991 Physician under contract at the marine base in Kiel of the federal army.
